More About Hans

Hans Hess studied music with emphasis on classical guitar at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul-Brazil achieving highest distinction in his graduation guitar performance.

In 2006 Hans moved to England to study for his MA in Music Composition for Film/TV at the University of Bristol. During his time as a postgraduate student at the department of music, he was invited to become instrumental tutor in classical guitar at the department of music, where he is currently teaching.

After his MA, Hans started to work intensively in soundtrack projects in partnership with the Director Samuel Dore and the High School of Technology in Abu Dhabi. Hans Hess also composes for sound libraries such as Hum Too and QWPM Music Production.

Hans is a classical guitar teacher at the Spanish Guitar Centre in Bristol since 2007. He is mentoring several students at this centre, helping them to obtain their guitar grades within Trinity College of Music and ABRSM.

With his expertise in Brazilian music and great interest in film scoring, Hans started his PhD in Brazilian Film Music at the University of Bristol in 2009.
